Inauguration of Jajarm Alumina’s heavy alumina intermediary project

According to Mining News Pro - Heavy Intermediary Project of Iran Alumina Company was inaugurated in the presence of the Chairman of the Islamic Council, the Governor of North Khorasan, the head of Iran Alumina Company, and a group of national and provincial officials.

“The heavy bauxite intermediate project is one of the infrastructure projects of Iran Alumina Company, whose studies began fifteen years ago with the participation of industry and university experts, and after conducting laboratory tests, pilot tests and technical and economic studies, it was found suitable for the pre-processing of low-grade bauxite,” explained, Mohamadreza Heidari, the project manager.

“With the reduction of high-quality bauxite reserves, there is a need for technological methods that can also use low-grade bauxite to produce alumina, and part of this goal was achieved with the implementation of this plan,” he added.

The project manager listed the reduction of caustic soda consumption, increase of bauxite homogenization degree, reduction of dust amount, reduction of the amount of dissolved salt in the process and reduction of sediments of the dissolution unit among the achievements of this project.
