Iranian, Australian officials meet to debate further cooperation in mining industry
Mining News Pro - On Saturday, a meeting was held between the Australian Ambassador to Iran Lyndall Sachs and the Head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) Khodadad Gharibpour in order to debate the growth of mining collaboration between the two nations.

Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported that the Iranian official stressed the necessity to deepen mutual aid with the Australian side in numerous fields such as training, exploration, extraction, and novel technologies.

Gharibpour added that "In-depth exploration and extraction is one of our main needs for the development of the mining sector and we intend to benefit from research and development as well as the technical knowledge of Australian companies in this regard," revealing that the stated areas were a priority for cooperation between the two nations.

The official acknowledged the leading role of Australia in the world"s mining industry, adding that "Small [Iranian] mining companies are also looking for cooperation in the fields of education, technology, exploration, and extraction."
