Mining News Agency -In January zinc ore mining dropped by 19.6% YoY, to 39.5 thousand tons.
Mining News -Zinc concentrate output totaled 19.6 thousand tons, down by 22.5%. Lead-zinc ore mining also decreased – by 21.7%. And only copper-zinc ores output grew by 7.7%.
Similar trend was observed in previous years as well. In 2016 Kazakhstan mined 324.8 thousand tons of zinc concentrate, down from 342.5 thousand tons in 2015 and 345.2 thousand tons in 2014. Lead-zinc ore output totaled 5.75 million tons in 2016 and 6.85 million tons in 2015.
At the same time copper-zinc ores mining grew in 2016 to 5.77 million tons from 5.04 million tons in 2015.
