11 Percent Jump in Iran’s DRI Production

According to Mining News Pro - Iranian steelmakers produced 5,552,433 tons of DRI in the first two months. Compared to the same period last year, the production number increased by 11 percent.

Statistics of subsidiaries of IMIDRO show that all 16 steelmaking companies in Iran produced 2,927,307 thousand tons of DRI in May, 2020 which shows 18 percent of growth in production compared to the same period last year.

Mobarakeh Steel Company’s share in DRI production was the most among the other steelmakers in Iran with 1,420,000 tons.

In May, 2020 Mobarakeh Steel produced 716,500 thousand tons of DRI. Also, Mianeh Steel saw a 147% jump in their production.

More than 7.1 million Pellet Production
The companies pellet production output was equal to 7,155,374 tons. Compared to the last year, the production decreased by 1 percent.

Again, MSC had the most share among the other steelmaker in pellet production with 1,254,451 tons. Also, Khorasan Steel Company production output jumped by 215% compared to the same period last year.

Khorasan Steel produced 3,493,696 tons of pellet in May, 2020.
