Mining News Pro - During a meeting with the news media, the chief executive of NICICO announced that news.
According to Mining News Pro - Ardeshir SadMohammadi, CEO of National Iranian Copper Industries Company said that we had 90% of growth in production last year compared to the same period in 1398.
“In the first half of the year we are going to complete the supply of drilling machines. We have to plan for deep exploratory drilling training of personnel and these devices can dig to a depth of 2500 meters,” he said.
“101,000 meters of deep drilling was done to identify new potentials, and 1 billion tons of new reserves with half a percent grade were the result of these discoveries,” he added.
SadMohammadi said that Iran`s copper reserves in the world had reached 36.5 million tons, and now about 7.5 million tons have now been added to the country`s reserves. With a good strategy, Iran can improve its rank in copper reserves from 7th to 6th.
“Last year, NICICO produced 280 thousand tons of copper cathode which is a 12% increase compared to the same period two years ago,” he mentioned.
