According to Mining News Pro - The xSeries offers a smooth transition to the i-series with its ease of learning, operation and service should business needs change.

Additional highlights of the xSeries include touch screen graphic user interface (GUI) featuring the Sandvik automation module (SAM).

The module offers options such as health monitoring system, replacing old-style shutdown switches and enables continuous, the real-time measurement should any alarm situation arise; same hardware and software components as the i-series machine; and familiar Sandvik “look and feel” GUI that reduces learning.

Other highlights of the xSeries are compressor management system (CMS) lite electronic controlled compressor system; oversize driller’s window which offers a superb view of the drill table; bolt-on mast locks which eliminate cutting and welding; and swivel operator’s seat with electrohydraulic controls.

“For decades, customers have counted on Sandvik to develop the most durable products in the market – rigs that will be able to work at a mine site for decades,” Jacques Britz, vice president of surface pedestal drills at Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, said.

“In developing the xSeries, we’ve taken our customers’ feedback into our research and development efforts and are proud of the newest addition to our product line.”
