Mining News Pro - NRW Holdings subsidiary Action Drill & Blast has been awarded two Western Australian contracts worth a combined $24.5 million by leading miners, Talison Lithium and BHP.
According to Mining News Pro -NRW Holdings subsidiary Action Drill & Blast has been awarded two Western Australian contracts worth a combined $24.5 million by leading miners, Talison Lithium and BHP.
Talison has awarded a 15-month contract extension to Action Drill & Blast for services at the Greenbushes lithium mine (pictured) in the state’s South West region.
The $13.5 million extension is for blast hole drilling, grade control and blasting services. It builds on a relationship between the two companies that started in 2011 when the original contract was awarded.
BHP, meanwhile, has awarded Action Drill & Blast a $11 million subcontract for drill and blast services at the South Flank iron ore project in the Pilbara. The contract will last eight months.
NRW’s east coast subsidiary, Golding Contractors, has also secured new contracts and extensions for its civil and urban businesses.
Golding’s civil business has been awarded a scope extension to its existing contract with Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) for the Pacific Highway Upgrade in northern New South Wales.
It expects the value of the contract to increase from $80 million to approximately $121 million with the extension.
Golding’s urban business has been awarded $26.7 million of orders since the beginning of the 2019 financial year.
The work has included a combination of contract extensions at established sites and contracts at new project sites for existing and new clients.
Golding’s recent civil and urban contract success adds to the strength of its mining division, which has won more than $700 million of contracts since the company was acquired by NRW in September 2017.
