Mining News Agency - BHP Billiton, the largest miner in the world, initially decided to withdraw from the World Coal Association due to the disagreement with it on the issue of global climate change. Besides, BHP Billiton might also withdraw from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce due to the relevant mining regulations.
Mining News -From the beginning of this year, BHP Billiton has been under pressure from Australian environmental groups, which asked BHP Billiton to withdraw from all industrial associations that did not comply with the Paris Agreement, which was signed in 2015.
BHP Billiton said it has initially decided to withdraw from the World Coal Association, which advocated that Australia gave up its goal of clean energy and turned to develop the high-tech coal-fired electricity plants.
