According to Mining News Pro - The Deputy Minister of Industries and Mines of North Khorasan announced the export of 7 thousand tons of alumina powder from this province to abroad.
Mahyar Sheikhi says that Iran Alumina Company is the only manufacturer of alumina powder in the country and as a result, most of the powder produced is consumed inside.
According to him, the value of the exported alumina powder was 16 million and 854 thousand dollars.
“The amount of powder produced by Iran Alumina Company during this year was 197 thousand tons,” he added.
He further pointed out that another product produced by Jajarm Alumina Company is aluminum ingots, and continued: “During this year, the amount of ingots produced in this company was 32 thousand 600 tons.”
It should be mentioned that the annual production capacity of aluminum in Iran is 700 thousand tons and for its production it is necessary to use 1.4 million tons of alumina powder, and currently only 250 thousand tons of it are produced inside the country and the rest is supplied from abroad.
