Mining News - BRITISH COLUMBIA – Not only is Vancouver’s Skeena Resources reporting good gold intersections at the former Snip mine, it has discovered a new mineralized zone in the 200 Footwall Corridor.

Underground exploration drilling at the Snip gold project in 2017.

The phase two drill program of 11,000 metres is being done underground with two rigs to build upon results from the first phase completed in 2017. Here are some highlights:
UG18-074 – 7.27 g/t gold over 3.0 metres; UG18-079 – 28.25 g/t over 1.0 metres and 10.95 g/t over 2.6 metres; UG18-080 – 36.65 g/t over 2.0 metres; 95.00 g/t over 0.5 metre, and 7.87 g/t over 3.3 metres; and UG18-081 – 17.60 g/t over 1.5 metre and 26.20 g/t over 1.5 metre. The new discovery was made in the easternmost footwall stratigraphy, the 200 Footwall Corridor. This represents an up-plunge expansion 100 metres east of the area drilled in 1997.

Skeena also continued delineation drilling of the Eastern Twin zone and 412 Veining Corridors in preparation for a maiden resource estimate.

The Snip gold mine in the Liard Mining Division operated from 1991 until 1999 with an average grade of 27.5 g/t gold. Skeena acquired a 100% interest from Barrick in 2017.
