According to Mining News Pro - Ardeshir Sadmohammadi, chief executive of National Iranian Copper Industries Company said considering the 7 billion tons of copper resources in Iran, the company will increase copper concentrate capacity by 400 thousand tons.

“We have remarkable resources in Midouk and Soungoun. There are vast ongoing explorations in Yazd, Isfahan, South Khorasan, and Sistan and Baluchistan,” he said.

“Next year, 3 copper concentrate plants will be opened in Alou Valley and Zaar Valley,” he added.

Sadmohammadi said that the cathode production program this year is 265 thousand tons, which is expected to reach 280 thousand tons by the end of the year.

NICICO`s operating income increased by 62% compared to the same period last year.

“In the localization section, 6250 pieces have been localized and during this year, 1100 pieces will be localized totally,” he added.
