Iran’s Crude Steel Output Rise 26%

Mining News -According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Iran produced one million and 980 thousand tonnes of crude steel in January increased from one million and 573 thousand tonnes in corresponding period of last year.

The main reason of production growth is inauguration of new steelmaking plants during current Iranian year (started 21March, 2017).

The world’s 64 steelmakers produced 139.43 million tonnes of crude steel in January, indicating 8 percent increase compared to corresponding period of the last year.

China became the world’s largest producer with production of 67 million tonnes of crude steel. After China, Japan (9 million and 30 thousand tonnes), India (9 million and 28 thousand tonnes), United States (6 million and 822 thousand tonnes), South Korea (6 million and 125 thousand tonnes), Russia (5 million and 700 thousand tonnes) and Germany (3million and 700 thousand tonnes) are world’s top steelmakers in January 2018.
