Bauxite is a sedimentary rock that contains high amounts of aluminum.

The CEO of Iran Alumina Complex stated that now the private sector only supplies 10% of the bauxite needs and the rest is taken from the complex's own mines. He added: “The purchase of bauxite from the private sector has been going on for the past few years and now five companies in different provinces supply a part of our company’s bauxite.”
