Mining News Pro - The CEO of Iran Alumina, located in Jajarm, North Khorasan province, said that 200,000 tons of bauxite is imported from Turkey every year as the raw material needed for this complex.
The chief executive of Iran Alumina, located in Jajarm, North Khorasan province, said that 200,000 tons of bauxite is imported from Turkey every year as the raw material needed for this complex.
“Bauxite is no longer being extracted from the Taash mine since 2018, and this mineral is inevitably imported from Turkey,” said Touraj Zare.
“Importing raw materials imposes a lot of costs,” he emphasized.
“The consumption of bauxite as a mineral raw material is one million tons per year for Iran Alumina Company and according to this, the factory has the raw mineral reserve for another 30 years,” Zareh mentioned.
Iran Alumina in Jajarm city is a unique production unit and the only producer of alumina powder in the Iran.
