Nicico to open a 300-megawatt thermal power plant in Easter Azerbaijan province

According to Mining News Pro - Chief executive of National Iranian Copper Industries Company and the officials of East Azerbaijan province in Iran made a preliminary agreement to build a 300 MW thermal power plant.

In this meeting, the implementation process of energy supply plans and power plant construction by Nicico’s CEO, economy and construction deputies, and two parliament members.

The minimum capacity of the solar and wind power plants will be 275 and 50 megawatts, respectively and and the necessary studies for locating them according to various technical and economic components are being done.

The serious will of the National Copper Company of Iran in providing electricity with priority on renewable sources, clean energy and compliance with environmental considerations, increasing the production capacity of the agreed projects and the maximum cooperation of the provincial authorities in advancing executive measures were the most important issues emphasized in this meeting.
