The project is expected to start immediately.

GR Engineering managing director Geoff Jones said the contract adds another feather to the the company’s cap.

“GR Engineering is pleased to have been awarded the EPC contract by Aurenne and we look forward to working collaboratively with the Aurenne team,” he said.

“This project further reinforces GR Engineering’s reputation as the leading gold EPC contractor in Australia.”

GR Engineering’s gold EPC portfolio has grown significantly in 2021. The company won contracts at Calidus’ Warrawoona Gold Project in March, Pantoro’s Norseman Gold Project in April and Bardoc Gold’s namesake project in August.

August also saw GR secure an EPC contract at Northern Star’s Thunderbox gold operations in Western Australia.

The Calidus, Pantoro and Northern Star contracts were all over $50 million.

Alt Resources was acquired by private entity Aurenne Ularring in September 2020.

The company’s assets include Lachlan Orogen in NSW and the Agnew-Wiluna and Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belts located in the Eastern Goldfields of WA.

Aurenne Alt Resources’ Mt Ida project has taken a number of steps forward in recent times.

The gold explorer solidified the potential of its Mt Ida project by boosting its contained gold and silver resources for the fifth time in April last year.

An additional 52,300 ounces of gold and 600,000 ounces of silver were added to the project’s total.

In July 2020, Aurenne Alt Resources’ completed a pre-feasibility study which further affirmed the technical and financial viability of the 750,000 tonne-per-year project.
