Mining News Pro - An employee of Barminco has died at the Hemlo mine, in Ontario, gold miner Barrick reported on Thursday.
The incident occurred at about 21:30 on Wednesday.
Barrick said that it had suspended operations to allow for an investigation into the cause of the fatality.
Barmico, a subsidiary of Perenti, provides underground mining services to the Hemlo mine.
Barrick and Pereti extended their sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of the employee.
