HOSCO reached 2 million tons of production

Farzad Arzani, chief executive of Hormozgan Steel Co. (HOSCO) is satisfied with the 6 months performance of the company.

“HOSCO has 1532 people as its human resources plus 2100 contractors. Coronavirus pandemic revolutionized our plans. New plans and decisions were made to take care of our employees and to stop the pandemic among them,” he said.

“Despite the pandemic, we didn’t have any downward trend in production by observing all health protocols,” he added.

Arzani said in the first 6 months (Persian year) they produced 687 thousand tons of slab despite the lack of power supply.

“Another good news is DRI production growth by 27 thousand tons compared to the same period last year. DRI production unit produced 846 thousand tons of DRI in the first six months,” he said.

“With the aid of Mobarakeh Steel Co. (MSC) our production capacity increased by 500 thousand tons and reached 2 million. This has happened by doing reforms in steelmaking, casting infrastructure units.”
