According to Mining News Pro - As autonomous mining continues to grow, Cat has adopted Fluidmesh’s technology to provide customers with a more refined wireless network.

This translates to reduced roaming times, packet drops and network complexity from the control centre to the mine over a wireless network, resulting in a more capable level of autonomous control.

Fluidmesh’s network technology uses multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) solution over a wireless network to achieve a more reliable connection.

“What this means for our Command customers is higher uptime, higher throughput, and lower latency when compared to other solutions,” Cat MineStar Solutions IT communications consultant Gabe Klyber said.

“It will also give our customers more options when it comes to connecting trucks, dozers and other supporting assets.”

Fluidmesh’s MPLS solution is capable of transmitting five Gigahertz end-to-end and incorporates artificial intelligence algorithms and dual-polarity antennas for a stronger connection in challenging environments that hauling and dozing operations are accustomed to.

“Validating wireless solutions for Command offerings and tele-remote operations takes a massive amount of energy and dedication,” Fluidmesh co-founder and vice president of sales Cosimo Malesci said.

“We are committed to assisting mining companies with their connectivity needs and are truly excited to be able to offer to Command customers a radical new approach to wireless networking.”
