According to Mining News Pro - The AD63 features 5 per cent increased payload and more torque for enhanced production capabilities, making the truck superior to its predecessor, the AD60.

With a 63-tonne payload, the AD63 becomes the largest underground truck in the Caterpillar product line.

It can be configured to meet the strictest diesel engine emissions regulations, ensuring regulatory compliance and improving underground air quality.

The AD63 meets EU Stage V emission standards and does not require diesel exhaust fluid to meet the standards.

Its emissions control system maintains the ability to use diesel particulate filters to further reduce particulate emissions.

In addition, the Cat C27 diesel engine-powered truck features an optimised transmission shift strategy, which results in smoother uphill driving and greater operator comfort.

It has an altitude capability, from -3048 metres to 1524 metres, with the new engine cooling package maintaining capabilities at high ambient temperatures.

Inside the cab, the truck operator can have full control of the ducted ventilation and air conditioning system, thanks to nine adjustable louvers for comfortable cooling and efficient defogging.

The heating, ventilation and air conditioning system is powered by a battery electric system,  it can operate while the engine is off.

The truck operator can also benefit from improved ergonomics that is presented by a forward-facing trainer seat, which offers increased space and comfort.

They can also tilt the cab for access to components in the cab side of the engine using the new tilt cab feature.

“Outside the cab, a redesigned access ladder and fold-flat handrails enhance safety during maintenance,” Caterpillar stated.

The AD63 also has the ability to show the weight of the truck contents to the loader operator via external displays.

The truck also boasts direct connectivity to Caterpillar and Cat dealers for remote support and services. This capability owes to the integration of Product Link Elite, which enables data collection and equipment health monitoring.

Caterpillar also presents a new option of a lightweight dump body with 38.3 cubic metres capacity.

The AD63 maintains commonality with other AD60 bodies.
