MACA claims Atlas contract for Corunna Downs
Mining News Pro - MACA has been awarded a road works contract for Atlas Iron’s Corunna Downs iron ore project in the Pilbara region, Western Australia.

According to Mining News Pro - A 22-kilometre section of public road will receive upgrades through the project, along with development of a 13-kilometre access road.

Revenue for the project is expected to climb to $38 million, while employing around 80 people across an eight-month term.

“MACA is delighted to have been awarded these early civil works for Atlas demonstrating the civil capability within our end to end mining service offering,” MACA chief executive Mike Sutton said.

“We look forward to being part of the successful development of Corunna Downs and continuing our long-standing relationship with Atlas.”

The project will commence in June with completion expected this year.

MACA has worked alongside Atlas for several years, with the two companies partnering together at the Pardoo, Mt Dove, Abydos and Wodinga operations.

The Perth-based contractor also provides crushing services for Atlas at the Mount Webber operations. Atlas is the sole owner of the Corunna Down iron mine.
