World Crude Steel Output Inch Down in August

According to Mining News Pro -Similarly on Y-o-Y basis world crude steel output edge up by 3% in Aug’18 against 147.89 MnT in Aug’17.

During eight months of CY18 (Jan-Aug) world crude steel output moved up by 5% to 1194 MnT which was 1140 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

SteelMint has analyzed world’s crude steel production numbers of major steel producing countries -

China’s crude steel output inch down by 1% in Aug’18 - China crude steel output inch down by 1% to 80.32 MnT in Aug’18 which was 81.24 MnT in previous month.However on Y-o-Y basis the same rose by 3% in Aug’18 against 78.20 MnT Aug’17.

India`s crude steel output move up by 1% M-o-M in Aug’18- As per WSA (World Steel Association) Indian crude steel output edge up by 1% M-o-M basis to 8.83 MnT in Aug’18 which was 8.75 MnT in Jul’18.However on yearly basis Indian crude steel output jumped by 4% in Aug’18 against 8.52 MnT in Aug’17.

Japan’s crude steel output rises by 5% M-o-M in Aug’18 - Japan crude steel output up by 5% to 8.80 MnT in Aug’18 which was 8.42 MnT in Jul’18.

Meanwhile on Y-o-Y basis nation’s crude steel output inch up by 1% as compared to 8.72 MnT in Aug’17.

United States crude steel output up by 1% M-o-M in Aug’18 - USA crude steel output edge up by 1% M-o-M in Aug’18 to 7.46 MnT as compared to 7.38 MnT in Jul’18. However on yearly basis the same move up by 5% in Aug’ 18 against 7.099 MnT in same month of previous year.

South Korea crude steel inch down in Aug’18- South Korea`s crude steel production move down marginally by 1% M-o-M to 6.09 MnT in Aug’18 which was 6.17 MnT in Jul’18.

Meanwhile on Y-o-Y basis the same remain largely stable at 6.09 MnT in Aug’18 and Aug’17.

Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in month of Aug’18 is as follows Russia: 6.17 MnT Brazil: 3.022 MnT ,Turkey 3.00 MnT and Germany at 3.90 MnT.
