Australian Mining partners with the Women in Energy & Resources Leadership Summit

Australian Mining partners with the Women in Energy & Resources Leadership Summit
Mining News - It is common knowledge that there is a serious under representation of women within the resources industry, making up less than 20 per cent of the workforce.
  Zoom:

Although the lack of women in the sector has been attributed to long periods spent in remote areas, the nature of the extensively physical work and the extensive working hours, Australia has recognised that there does need to be a shift in these figures.

Resource companies have begun to introduce initiatives to increase the enticement of women to the workforce. The forward-thinking attitudes of mining organisations has created new targets to achieve a minimum 25 per cent female workforce by 2020.

Improving gender equality in the resource industry is a huge step in the right direction. But what comes after that? The figures of under representation begin to become extremely concerning when we reach senior management and executive level roles. It is an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed.

In 2014, Liquid Learning introduced their first Women in Energy & Resources Leadership Summit. With such a well received event in the space of high interest topics, this event has been back time and time again. This reflects the changing of attitudes within the resource industries — there is a passion to succeed, a desire to lead in the right direction.

This year, Liquid Learning introduces their 8th Women in Energy & Resources Leadership Summit. This year’s event will explore the theme “exceed expectations” to uncover the secrets of going above and beyond to achieve your goals.

Liquid Learning is bringing together some of the most accomplished leaders from across Australia to reflect on their greatest achievements. Speakers from BHP, Rio Tinto, Energy Queensland and other leading organisations will offer advice and insight to help you exceed expectations and achieve professional greatness.

Liquid Learning and Australian Mining have joined forces to partner across this event, offering all Australian Mining readers a 10 per cent discount off standard rate ticket prices (use booking code A1). To see the complete speaker lineup, click here.
