MSC: Slab Production Is Reaching 1.9 million Tons

The company’s production of crude steel increased by 16.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Gholamreza Salimi, manager of steelmaking and casting sector in MSC said that 1,896,191 tons of slab has been produced in the first three months. Last year, the number was 1,631,812 tons during the same period, so this year company had 16.2% increase.

“This situation developed under the most cruel and hard sanctions which is implemented by United States and also covid-19 pandemic in the country. Although, we tried our best for the observance of health protocols, social distancing, and limiting the amount of workforce in each unit,” Salimi explained.

“The commodities which we produced include 127,000tons of slab for sour natural gas pipes and 19,000 tons of slab for sweet gas pipes.

Two records in steelmaking and continuous casting units
MSC reached two records in the first three months. Producing 637,000 tons of slab and 77,800 tons of slab in RH sector.
