Mining News Pro - Musgrave Minerals has noted impressive results for its drilling campaign at the Cue project in the Murchison district of Western Australia.
Assays for first holes from Musgrave’s reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Starlight discovery returned intercepts including 12 metres at 112.9 grams per tonne of gold from 36 metres.
Its other intercepts include 48 metres at 4.4 grams per tonne of gold from 30 metres, and seven metres at 13.7 grams per tonne of gold from 114 metres.
The Starlight mineralisation was over a strike length of more than 115 metres and remained open at depth.
They are in close proximity to Musgrave’s current resource at Break of Day, which drilling program is around 60 per cent complete.
“This is a great start to the program and confirms the current model extending the mineralisation both up dip where it approaches the surface and down dip where it remains open,” Musgrave managing director Rob Waugh said.
“The bonanza high-grade, near surface mineralisation will enhance the open cut development potential of the deposit while the deeper mineralisation will enhance the underground potential.”
Musgrave has also been successful in its application for Western Australia’s 2021-21 exploration incentive scheme.
The company will receive $150,000 toward diamond drilling deep extensions to the mineralisation as part of the co-funded program.
The Cue project hosts mineral resources totalling 6.45 million tonnes at three grams per tonne of gold for 613,000 ounces of contained gold.
Its prospective corridor includes the Break of Day, Lake Austin North and Mainland-Consols discoveries.
Musgrave has an $18 million exploration joint venture agreement with Evolution Mining in place over the Lake Austin portion of the project.
