World Crude Steel Output Down by 3% M-o-M in Nov’19

According to Mining News Pro - On a yearly premise, the same inched down by 1% in Nov`19, which was 149.356 MnT in Nov`18.

During the first eleven months (Jan-Nov) of CY`19, world crude steel production aggregated to 1,684.194 MnT, up by 3% as compared with 1640.234 MnT in a similar time frame of CY`18.

SteelMint has analyzed the world’s crude steel production numbers of prominent steel-producing countries.

China’s crude steel output fell by 2% M-o-M in Nov’19- China`s crude steel production slipped by 2% to 80.287 MnT in Nov`19 as compared with 81.521 MnT in the previous month.

Strict production cuts to cut excess capacities and to control air pollution resulted in a decline in the nation’s crude steel output in Nov’19.

However, on a yearly premise, the same increased by 4% in Nov`19 as against 77.213 MnT in Nov`18.

During the first eleven months (Jan-Nov) of CY`19, the nation`s crude steel output stood at 904.177 MnT, increased by 7% in comparison with 844.887 MnT in corresponding months of CY`18.

India`s crude steel output down by 2% M-o-M in Nov’19- India`s crude steel output inched down by 2% in Nov`19 to 8.934 MnT as compared to 9.089 MnT a month ago.

Sluggish demand and weak buying activities pushed Indian steel mills to lower crude steel output in Nov’19.

However, the same fell marginally by 3% in Nov`19 in comparison with 9.192 MnT in Nov`18.

During the first eleven months (Jan-Nov) of CY`19, the nation`s aggregated crude steel output stood at 101.954 MnT, up by 2% as compared to 99.916 MnT in similar time frame of CY`18.

Japan’s crude steel output tumble by 5% M-o-M in Nov`19- Declining by 5% in Nov`19, Japan`s crude steel output stood at 7.743 MnT as compared with 8.157 MnT in the previous month.

Higher inventory levels amid lower domestic demand, and falling overseas prices resulted in reduced output in Nov’19.

However, on a yearly premise, the same plunged by 11% in Nov`19 over 8.659 MnT in Nov`18.

During the first eleven months (Jan-Nov) of CY`19, the nation`s aggregated crude steel production stood at 91.527 MnT, down by 5% in comparison with 95.856 MnT in corresponding months of CY`18.

United States crude steel output decreases by 2% M-o-M in Nov’19- United State`s crude steel output scaled down by 2% to 7.233 MnT in Nov`19, as against 7.407 MnT a month ago.

As per market reports, U.S. steelmakers continued to suffer from weaker domestic steel prices. Moreover, softer demand across certain key markets including automotive resulted in a reduction in crude steel output in Nov’19.

Also, the same inched down by 2%, Y-o-Y in Nov`19, in comparison to 7.399 Mnt in Nov`18.

During the first eleven months (Jan-Nov) CY`19, the nation churned out 80.615 MnT of crude steel, up by 2% as compared to 79.130 MnT in Jan-Nov CY`18.

Crude steel production of other top steel-producing nations in Nov`19 is as follows: Russia- 5.62 MnT, South Korea- 5.89 MnT, Germany- 3.21 MnT, Turkey- 2.88 MnT, Brazil- 2.60 MnT, and Iran- 2.13 MnT.
