According to Mining News Pro - The renewal stems from Anglo American’s existing umbrella contract with Mastermyne at its Moranbah North and Grosvenor mines in Queensland.

Mastermyne, which commenced the contract last week, estimates it will contribute between $250–$300 million in revenues over the three-year term.

The company’s scope of work includes the design, supply and install ventilation structures and devices; installation of secondary support and conveyor belt, and provision of outbye support and maintenance services.

Mastermyne chief executive Tony Caruso said the company was pleased to see its 17-year relationship with Anglo American continue.

“Moranbah and Grosvenor mines supply high grade metallurgical coal to the international market for steel production, and we are pleased to support their successful operation,” Caruso said.

“The continuation of this contract reinforces Mastermyne’s strong standing and value proposition in the sector and demonstrates the robust outlook for metallurgical coal.”

The agreement includes a two-year extension option at Anglo American’s discretion.

Anglo American also contracted Mastermyne at its Aquila project in the Bowen Basin, Queensland shortly after announcing approval of the project.

Under that contract, Mastermyne will undertake roadway development in the mains and gate road, and provide all outbye related services for the establishment of the new longwall operation.

Anglo American plans to develop Aquila into one of the most technologically advanced underground mines in the world, with features such as a remotely-operated longwall.
