According to Mining News Pro - The LS312 loader is powered by a C7.1 mechanical engine with Tier 2 emissions standards, targeted for minimisation in emissions, maintenance and total cost of ownership.

This Tier 2 engine, coupled with exhaust after treatment systems, reduces personnel exposure to harmful diesel emissions.

Sandvik LS312 reduces consumables and creates up to 20 per cent diesel savings, as well as 15 per cent reduction in service time due to improved maintainability.

The loader also meets the latest international safety standards, including electronic diesel engine safety shutdown systems and roll-over and falling objects protection fitted as standard in all units.

Sandvik has improved cabin ergonomics and visibility to assist the safe operation of the vehicles.

“Our new Sandvik LS312 flameproof underground loader is full of new innovations designed to improve safety, minimise emissions, increase productivity and lower your operating costs,” Sandvik product manager flameproof load and haul, mechanical cutting division, Zane Swingler said.

“We have combined feedback from customers and service personnel with our long history in underground coal LHDs to continually improve the product.”

The LS312 can be used in conjunction with Sandvik’s 57-tonne hydraulic assist roof support trailer for relocating larger longwall equipment, as well as a range of other quick detachment system (QDS) attachments.

Operators can also upgrade and rebuild their existing LS190 loader fleet with the new C7.1 mechanical engine with integration into other models, such as the LS170 planned in the near future.
