Mining News Pro - Iran has produced 4.2 million tons of steel in the first two months of 2019, which increased 7.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to Mining News Pro - Due to a report by the "World Steel Association", during January and February Iran has succeeded to produce 4.2 million tons of crude steel. In the same period last year, Iran produced 3.9 million tons.
The production in February 2019 was 2.1 million tons of steel. In comparison to the production of January 2019, the production volume had 9.6 percent decrease.
During the first two months of 2019, 64 steel-making countries produced 287.6 million tons of crude steel that has a 3.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The top five steelmakers are China (149.5 million tons), India (17.9 million tons), Japan (15.8 million tons), United States (14.4 million tons) and South Korea (11.8 million tons).
