Mining News Pro - Cobham Aviation Services has secured a three-year contract with OZ Minerals to provide fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) services between Adelaide, Port Augusta and the Carrapateena copper-gold project in South Australia.
According to Mining News Pro -Cobham Aviation Services has secured a three-year contract with OZ Minerals to provide fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) services between Adelaide, Port Augusta and the Carrapateena copper-gold project in South Australia.
The aviation company will operate 14 flights each week between these locations.
Cobham has now secured two contracts with OZ Minerals in recent years. It has operated all FIFO services to and from the Prominent Hill mine since 2017.
Dean Brennan, Cobham vice-president of regional services, said the contract reflected its competitive offering within the FIFO environment.
“The Carrapateena project is significant for South Australia and its economy. Cobham is delighted to play its part in such an important development and continuing its relationship with OZ Minerals,” Brennan said.
Cobham has provided its services in the mining and resources sector for more than 25 years.
Myles Johnston, OZ Minerals general manager Carrapateena, said: “We are pleased to partner with Cobham Aviation Services in providing safe and reliable flights for our people at Carrapateena.”
