Mining News Pro - Steel product prices of Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co Ltd - Japan’s top electric-arc furnace steelmaker will remain unchanged for six straight month for August deliveries. Prior to this,the steel maker had raised prices by Yen 2000/MT for Feb deliveries.
In the month of July total production stood at 220,000 MT. Out of total production, H- shaped steel was 100,000 MT and hot rolled coils was 90,000 MT and plates of 100,000 MT with export quantity around 30,000 MT.
Regarding domestic market conditions, Imamura Managing Director highlighted in the annual press conference,”Domestic supply and demand is tight towards full-fledged summer season and firm demand from construction sector.”
Further he added that,demand and supply balance for finished products has been tight.Input costs such as oil, electrode and other materials are showing uptrend.Thus facing difficulties to make a profit and planning to raise our prices as early as possible.
On overseas market conditions, he shared that strong domestic demand in China may offset the uncertainties which will arise from trade conflicts between USA and China over trade tariffs.
Also depreciation of Japanese currency Yen results to increase in export bookings. However company is taking in selective orders over strong demand.

1.Okayama on July 23 - July 27
2.Kyushu on July 26 -August 1
3.Utsunomiya July 30 to August 9 days
4.Tahara,July 23 to August 3 days.
