Mining News Agency -According to the statistics released by Anglo American plc, the coal production in 2017 totaled around 81.82 million tons, down by 13.7% or 12.99 million tons year on year.
Mining News -Among them, Australia accounted for around 21.28 million tons, down by 30% from the same period of last year; South Africa accounted for around 49.91 million tons, down by 7.2% from the same period a year ago; Colombia accounted for around 10.64 million tons, down by 0.2% from the same period a year earlier.
The significant decrease in Anglo American coal production in Australia was mainly due to the company`s sale of the LV PCI coal mine and Foxleigh coal mine in Queensland on August 30th, 2016, and the following sale of the Callide mine on October 30th, 2016.
