Alliance has provided services to Newmont for the past nine years from its bases in Perth, Darwin and Brisbane.

Tanami is the only site Alliance flies into from three different states and territories in Australia, according to Alliance chief executive officer Lee Schofield.

“Air charter services to Newmont’s mine site have increased over the last nine years and it is the only site in Australia where we fly into from three different States/Territories,” he said.

“This contract extension was won due to the ability of Alliance to continue to operate safe, reliable and cost-effective air charter services for Newmont. Alliance has again proven it is Australia’s airline of choice for the resource industry and we have retained our enviable record of contract retention.”

The contract will provide between 5 per cent and 7 per cent of Alliance’s revenue in the next 12 months.

Alliance provides essential services to the mining, energy, tourism and government sectors in Australasia.

The company was the first carrier in Australia to be presented with the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) IATA Operational Safety Audit and Flight Safety Foundation’s BARS Gold status.

The Tanami gold mine is in the Tanami Desert and has been owned and operated by Newmont since 2002.
