The company has delivered nameplate flow rates at the production bores and pump stations.

The Beyondie project is now 63 per cent complete and remains on schedule, targeting first production in the third quarter of next year.

“Commissioning of the brine extraction infrastructure at nameplate capacity is a significant and further de-risking milestone for the project,” Kalium Lakes chief executive Rudolph van Niekerk said.

“It not only validates the mine plan, but also continues to meet pre-production targets while we advance first production in the third quarter of next year.”

Kalium has also completed all trenching work at Lake Sunshine and Ten Mile, with two trench pump stations installed at each of the lakes to extract brine from the shallow brine resources contained within those lakes.

The pumps have a combined flow rate in excess of the planned 100 litres per second, with average grades of 12,470 milligrams per litre potassium against the planned 8970 milligrams.

Evaporation fond construction is also progressing on schedule, with 61 per cent of all primary ponds now complete.
