The scope of work includes the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of three in-pit dozer units.

They will be capable of receiving and delivering ore to the processing facilities at an average rate of 3100 tonnes an hour, based on two units operating at one time.

The dozer units will play a part in executing Strandline’s dry mining methodology at the Coburn project, which is set to produce zircon and titanium mineral sands once operational.

Strandline managing director Luke Graham said the contract marked another key step in the company’s strategy to bring Coburn into production and established an important relationship with a services provider in Piacentini.

The contract award follows an $18.5 million capital raising by Strandline in August. Strandline is also finalising a $150 million loan facility from Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF).

Bunbury-based Piacentini is a service provider in the mineral sands industry for mining, earthmoving and supply of mechanical plant solutions.
