According to Mining News Pro - Hosein Modarresifar, manager of safety, health and environment in Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) said: “MSC produces about half of country`s steel. We always consider environmental achievements beside production growth. Environment is one of our first priorities and we are pleased with our performance.”

He emphasized that MSC is the first major industrial complex that gained international ISO 14000 license.

“Eleven years ago, MSC became a member of the World Steel Association Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Program and achieved prizes of World Energy Forum, European Green Management, Energy and Waste Management,” Modarresifar explained.

“Major targets of MSC includes the reduction of water and energy consumption, contaminants and the replacement of environmental hazards, maintaining green environment, reduction of production, consumption and recycling wastes. Another important goal is executing multiple projects to reduce maximum water consumption and achieve a record of minimum water consumption per ton of production.
