Iran Becomes an Importer of Iron Ore in 2028

According to Mining News Pro - Nematollah Mohseni, Deputy Commercial of Esfahan Steel Company (ESC) said: “Our companies products have fine quality because the steel is directly made from iron ore. This way, the steel has lowest impurity than electric arc method.”

He also talked about the difficulties of supplying raw materials. “Selling raw materials is a huge issue for Iran while, according to the 1410 vision, we need 180 million tons of Iron ore for producing 55 million tons of steel. Therefore, we must import iron ore since 2028”, Mohseni said.

He described rail production as one of the honors of the country`s industry.

“H-beams up to 300mm in size has been successfully produced in Iran and they are used to increase the safety of high buildings”, Deputy Commercial of ESC explained.

He also said that the company is checking the possibility of producing R18 and R24 mining rails, and V36 mining arcs.
