According to Mining News Pro - The multi-year contracts include maintenance and turnaround services at the Chevron-operated Gorgon and Wheatstone facilities in Western Australia.

UGL will deliver mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and access services for maintenance, plant turnaround and brownfield execution services.

The contractor has also secured an extension of integrated services for structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation for existing clients in Western Australia.

In Victoria, UGL will deliver an extension of scope for maintenance and project-related services for an existing client’s assets.

CIMIC chief executive officer Michael Wright said, “These contract awards exemplify the strength of UGL’s solid client relationships and its position as a market leader in the delivery of maintenance and mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services to the oil and gas industry.”

In mining, CIMIC’s companies have won a series of contacts over the past month, particularly in Queensland.

The contractor’s companies finished off last year by winning two significant mining services contracts in Queensland’s coal industry.

First, Pembroke Resources awarded Sedgman and CPB Contractors a $184 million coal processing contract at the Olive Downs greenfield coking coal project in Central Queensland.

UGL then secured a multi-year $180 million contract for maintenance and shutdown support services across BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) coal mines in the Bowen Basin.

CIMIC also announced last week that Sedgman has been awarded a $155 million minerals processing contract at QCoal’s Byerwen coal mine in Central Queensland.
